Fans of Tintin have a new reason to visit Santa Bárbara Castle this summer.
A new exhibition dedicated to the famous comic book reporter has opened at the historic fortress. The exhibition brings together more than 300 figures, models and collectibles from the private collection of Enrique Lucas.
The exhibition, titled The Young Reporter and His Adventures at Santa Bárbara Castle, runs until January in the castle’s Taberna Hall.
A lifelong passion for Tintin
Enrique Lucas first discovered Tintin through Hergé’s classic comic books many years ago.
What began as a hobby gradually grew into an extensive private collection of figures, books and memorabilia celebrating the adventures of Tintin and his companions.
Lucas says collecting is never really finished. For him, the greatest reward comes from sharing the collection with the public.
More than 300 collectibles on display
The exhibition showcases hundreds of items inspired by the world of Tintin.
Visitors can admire miniature figures of Tintin, Snowy and Captain Haddock, alongside larger display pieces. The exhibition features some of the series’ best-known characters.
The collection also includes original comic books, vintage posters and classic cover artwork, while a multimedia area explores the history of Tintin and the lasting influence of Hergé’s work.
Detailed models of the famous Moon Jeep and Captain Haddock’s convertible rank among the exhibition’s highlights.
Four themed sections
The organisers have arranged the exhibition into four themed areas, each exploring a different part of Tintin’s adventures.
Visitors can discover:
- The Imaginary Museum of Tintin
- The 1972 Christmas Card
- The Moon Jeep
- Captain Haddock’s Convertible
Together, the displays take visitors on a journey through the characters, vehicles and stories that have made Tintin one of Europe’s best-loved comic book series.
A family-friendly attraction this summer
Councillor for Tourism Ana Poquet said the exhibition gives adults the chance to rediscover a childhood favourite while introducing younger visitors to Tintin for the first time.

The Tintin exhibition is open daily until January in the Taberna Hall at Santa Bárbara Castle.
From 16 June to 4 September, opening hours are:
- Monday to Sunday: 10:00 to 23:00
