San Silvestre Villajoyosa: Bib 0
This year, local paddler Pau Sánchez Such from the Nautical Club will wear bib number 0. Organizers awarded him this honor to recognize his outstanding sporting achievements. At the 2025 Sea Kayak World Championships in Durban, South Africa, Sánchez Such finished as world runner-up in the Mixed Junior SS2 category and placed ninth in the Junior SS1 category.
Sánchez Such also claimed both the absolute and junior regional titles at the Regional Sea Kayak Championships in El Campello. He has reached the podium multiple times at national and international events, including the 2025 Surfski World Cup in Villajoyosa.
Councillor for Sports Peyo Lloret invited athletes and spectators to join the race, emphasizing that the San Silvestre event “attracts more participants every year, who not only enjoy the sporting challenge but also the festive atmosphere throughout the town.”
