Food lovers have a good reason to visit Elda this March as Sabor a Elda (A Taste of Elda) returns.
For several days, the city will celebrate its local cuisine. From 5 to 9 then 13 to 15 March, bars, restaurants, cafés and pastry shops will take part by offering special dishes inspired by the area’s culinary heritage.
Following the success of last year’s Sabor a Elda, which featured 36 participating establishments and attracted thousands of visitors, organisers are aiming to go even further this year. The goal is to encourage creations that inspire, tell stories and turn every dish or tapa into an experience that truly captures the taste of Elda.
A special ingredient this year
One of the new features for this edition is the introduction of a Committee of Gastronomic Experts.
Their role will be to guide and support participating establishments, helping them develop new ideas, strengthen flavours and highlight the local character of their dishes. In addition, their professional advice aims to inspire creativity and help raise the overall quality of the event.
For many venues, this is a chance not only to showcase their cuisine but also to learn and innovate with the support of experienced professionals from the sector.
Sabor a Elda: Cuisine and culture
During the festival, participating venues are also encouraged to combine food with cultural activities. You can enjoy:
- Live music
- Wine tastings featuring Alicante Designation of Origin wines
- Small theatre performances
- Art exhibitions and displays
- Collaborations between local establishments
Each year the event attracts thousands of visitors, generates attention in the media and on social networks, and continues to strengthen Elda’s reputation as a gastronomic destination within the Valencian Community.
