Elche is expanding its network of free public parking by developing two new plots in the Puertas Coloradas neighbourhood on Calle Blas Orts Sánchez.

The project will create around 110 parking spaces, including bays for people with disabilities and motorcycles.

Contractors are working on two separate parcels of land. One measures about 700 square metres and the other around 1,200 square metres.

These new spaces in Puertas Coloradas join other free parking areas created on vacant land in Filet de Fora, Calle Ángel and parts of Carrús.

Councillor Claudio Guilabert said the council has prioritised free parking and better neighbourhood infrastructure since the start of the current term. He explained that the team has now adapted and organised the two plots to provide clearly marked spaces for local residents.

With these additional 110 spaces, Elche continues to expand its free parking provision in response to growing demand in residential areas.
