Alicante will once again lace up in support of a good cause on Sunday 8 March, when the fourth Women’s Race takes place in the Pau 5 area of Playa de San Juan.
The 4.5 kilometre route will start and finish at Sergio Melgares Park, with the race beginning at 09.30. Participants can run or walk at their own pace.
The family friendly format sets this race apart.
Women can enter individually or sign up in small groups, including sisters, mothers and daughters, partners or even three generation teams.
Organisers will award trophies to the first three runners to cross the finish line in the competitive category.
Alicante Women’s Race: How to register
Registration costs €13 per person. Participants can register at
carreraalicantemujer.es. Last year, more than 1,000 people took part.
All proceeds will go to APAMM, the Provincial Association of Alicante for Women with Breast Cancer.
Councillor for Social Welfare Begoña León said the event represents far more than a race. She explained that each step symbolises the struggle faced by women living with breast cancer and encouraged residents and visitors to join in to celebrate life and solidarity.
Participants can collect race numbers and official T shirts at El Corte Inglés on Avenida de Maisonnave at the following times:
- Saturday 7 March: 10.00 to 14.00 and 17.00 to 20.00
- Sunday 8 March: 07.30 to 09.00
