Art fans are in for a treat this autumn as the painting exhibition in Petrer by local artist, Manuel Bellot, opens.
The painting exhibition “Caminando hacia el futuro” (Walking toward the future) by local artist Manuel Bellot opens on Friday, 10 October at 19:30 at Horno Cultural, and will run until Sunday, 26 October.
In the artist’s own words, the collection “reflects my drive to always move forward, to open new doors, and explore unknown territories. My failures, searches, and discoveries are part of this journey, as valuable as the works I consider accomplished.”
Painting exhibition in Petrer: Introducing the artist
Manuel Bellot, born in Elda in 1954, found in painting a way to express what words could not. Though his professional life was long linked to shoe design, a familiar trade in the region, he never strayed far from his easel. For him, painting is both compass and companion. A way of exploring emotions, experimenting with shapes, and letting colour and texture speak for themselves.
Each of his works is a small adventure, unplanned and open-ended. The artist favours irregular formats, layered textures, and unexpected colour combinations that break from routine. “Painting,” he says, “is learning to move forward without fear, letting the canvas guide your steps.”
Visitors can enjoy the exhibition during regular opening hours:
- Thursday to Saturday, 18:00 – 20:00.
- Sundays, 12:00 – 14:00.
Venue: Horno Cultural, Plaza Fco. López Pina, Petrer
