Brass music will once again fill the streets of Alicante as the Summer Brass Festival celebrates its 15th anniversary with concerts, masterclasses and performances by internationally renowned musicians.
The festival runs from 2 to 6 July. Over the years, it has become one of Spain’s leading events for brass musicians, attracting performers, students and audiences from across Europe.
Free evening concerts
One of the festival’s biggest attractions is its series of free open-air concerts in Plaza del Ayuntamiento.
Across five evenings, audiences can enjoy performances by professional ensembles, guest soloists and festival participants.
The programme features trumpets, trombones, horns, tubas and other brass instruments. Music ranges from classical favourites to jazz and contemporary works.
International musicians
Alongside the concerts, the festival offers intensive training for brass players of all ages and abilities.
This year’s teaching team includes musicians from leading European orchestras, including the Oslo Opera and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra.
Acclaimed soloists and professors from Spain’s top conservatories will also take part.
Fifteen years of music
Brass Academy Alicante founded the festival in 2012.
What began as a specialist educational event has grown into an international gathering that combines top-level training with public performances in one of Alicante’s most iconic settings.
A festival for everyone
While musicians develop their skills alongside leading professionals, residents and visitors can enjoy the evening concerts free of charge.
Organisers say the festival supports the next generation of brass players while bringing live music into the city centre. It also makes classical performance more accessible to a wider audience.
The 15th Summer Brass Festival is organised by Brass Academy Alicante with support from Alicante City Council. The festival runs from 2 to 6 July.
