A lot of people at a concert, hands in the air, bright stage lights.

Calling all music fans. Head over to Alicante to enjoy the latest Grunge Is Not Dead XXL festival on 31 January 2026.

The event pays tribute to the bands that defined the grunge movement and shaped the sound of the 1990s. After selling out in several cities, the festival returns with a larger line up.

The festival will offer more than three hours of live music. Tribute bands will recreate the sound and attitude of grunge through classic tracks by:

  • Nirvana
  • Pearl Jam
  • Soundgarden
  • Foo Fighters
  • Alice in Chains

Grunge is Not Dead: Four tribute bands

The XXL line up includes:

  • RadioBleach, one of the best known Nirvana tribute bands, will perform a set focused on the biggest songs from Kurt Cobain’s catalogue.
  • Black Hole Jam will deliver well known tracks by Pearl Jam and Soundgarden, two bands closely linked to the Seattle grunge scene.
  • Foo Fakers will pay tribute to Foo Fighters, the band that emerged after the end of Nirvana and carried the grunge spirit into the 2000s.
  • The Rooster Project will perform an Alice in Chains tribute, combining grunge with heavier sounds and darker lyrics.

The event starts at 19:00 at the The One venue on Calle del Bronce, 8, in San Vicente del Raspeig.

Tickets are available via jfpromotickets.es.

A tribute to the grunge legacy

The festival celebrates the music, attitude and authenticity that defined grunge. From instantly recognisable Nirvana anthems to the heavier tones of Alice in Chains and the raw energy of Foo Fighters, the night promises to be a solid choice for fans of alternative rock and anyone who still owns a flannel shirt, just in case.
