Hotels across the Costa Blanca closed the second half of February with strong occupancy levels, helped largely by international visitors.
According to the latest tourism figures, hotels in the region reached an average occupancy of more than 77% in the second half of the month. The numbers also show a clear boost in bookings towards the end of February.
Looking ahead, the start of March also looks promising, with reservations already sitting between 71% and 76%, although final figures will still depend on weather conditions and last-minute bookings linked to major regional events such as Las Fallas and the Fiestas de la Magdalena.
Benidorm remains stable in the mid-season
Benidorm, often considered the tourism capital of the Costa Blanca, ended the second half of February with hotel occupancy of 75.4%, slightly below the 76.8% recorded in the same period in 2025.
For the whole month, the average stood at 73.9%, compared with 75.5% last year. Although slightly lower, the figures still reflect stable demand in a destination that has one of the largest hotel capacities in the Valencian Community.
Bookings for the first half of March already stand at around 70.9%, suggesting that occupancy levels will remain steady as the season changes.
The British market continues to dominate, accounting for 43.8% of visitors in the second half of February and 42.8% across the entire month. Spanish visitors represent around 36.9% of guests during the second half of the month.
Other important markets include the Netherlands and Belgium, both with around 5%, while Ireland and Poland complete the list of regular international visitors.
Hotel occupancy on the Costa Blanca passes 80%
Across the Costa Blanca as a whole, hotel occupancy in the second half of February reached 80.4%, more than three points higher than the 76.9% recorded in 2025.
This increase helped the region close the month with average occupancy of 78%, again higher than last year’s 73.9%.
Early figures for March remain positive, with 72.9% of hotel rooms already reserved for the first half of the month.
While the Spanish market still represents a large share of visitors, the international market continues to drive growth. The UK remains a key source of visitors, alongside strong demand from Nordic countries, especially Norway, as well as growing interest from Belgium.
Costa Blanca South: Moderate results
In the South area of the Costa Blanca, the situation is slightly different. Occupancy during the second half of February reached 80.5%, roughly the same level as last year.
However, the monthly average dropped to 76.2%, around five points lower than in 2025.
Here, the Spanish market plays a larger role, representing nearly 70% of guests during the second half of the month. Among international visitors, the UK remains the main market, followed by France, Germany, Belgium and Nordic countries.
Even so, the outlook remains positive. With 74.3% of hotel rooms already booked for early March, the area is expected to stabilise as the new tourist season approaches.
