El Campello has opened entries for its annual fiesta poster competitions.
Calling all budding photographers and designers!
If you fancy seeing your work up in lights during fiesta season, this could be well worth a look.
The winning posters will cover two of the town’s biggest events: the Virgen del Carmen celebrations in July and the Moros y Cristianos fiestas in October.
These posters are used as the official image of each fiesta, so the winning designs will be seen across the town on banners, programmes and promotional material.
What you can submit
The competition is open to everyone, whether you are a professional, an amateur photographer or just someone who enjoys a bit of design work at home.
There are a few key rules:
- Each person can submit one design only
- The work must be original and not used elsewhere
- It cannot have been entered into another competition
You will also need to include the official logos from the council and the correct wording for each fiesta. Full details and downloadable materials are available on the council website.
How to enter
Entries can be submitted online through the town hall’s electronic system if you have a digital certificate. This is the quickest option.
If you prefer, you can also submit your work in person at the town hall on Calle Alcalde Oncina Giner, Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 14:00. If you do this, you will need to send an email to fiestas@elcampello.org, to confirm your submission.
Prizes on offer
There is €1,000 for each of the main winning posters.
For the Moros y Cristianos competition, there is also an extra €400 prize for a local artist. That design will appear in the official “Llibret de Festes”.
What the judges will be looking for
The jury will assess entries based on creativity, technical quality and originality. They will also consider whether the design works as a proper representation of the fiestas.
In short, it needs to stand out but still feel right for the event.
