After what feels like far too many weeks of rainy, windy, grim weather, the Costa Blanca has finally decided to shine its blue sky on us.
AEMET has confirmed that the yellow weather alerts linked to the recent storm have now been lifted, bringing some welcome calm across the province.
Storm Goretti brought a low risk of strong winds to inland northern Alicante, but its impact here was mild compared to northern Spain, France and the United Kingdom, where rough weather is still causing problems.
Temperatures will stay much the same as Friday, but the weekend is shaping up nicely. Expect moderate winds, plenty of sunshine and a few passing clouds on both Saturday and Sunday. Not bad at all for this time of year.
Alicante city
A bright and mostly clear day lies ahead. The wind will still be noticeable early on, with gusts reaching up to 40 km per hour, but it will ease as the day goes on and become very light. It may still feel a little cool when the wind picks up. Temperatures will range from 8°C to 16°C.
Costa Blanca weather: Elche
A calm and straightforward day with clear skies. The wind will come from the northwest, with stronger gusts at times, reaching up to 60 km per hour, although most of the day it will sit between 10 and 35 km per hour. Temperatures will be mild, with a low of 7°C and a high of 15°C.
Benidorm
Along the coast, sunshine and clear skies will make for a pleasant day, apart from the wind. Expect moderate winds of around 20 km per hour, with gusts up to 35 km per hour, especially along the seafront and exposed areas of the Marina Baixa. Temperatures will sit between 8°C and 16°C.
Elda
Inland areas like Elda will see partly cloudy skies and continued windy conditions. Winds will blow at around 20 km per hour, with gusts up to 40 km per hour, particularly in the morning. This will make it feel cooler at times. Actual temperatures will range from 5°C to 13°C.
Torrevieja
A calm and sunny day with a mix of clear skies and some high cloud later on. Winds from the northwest will blow at around 20 km per hour, with gusts reaching 35 km per hour. These will be most noticeable along the coast. Temperatures will dip slightly, ranging from 10°C to 16°C.
Orihuela
Stable conditions continue in Orihuela, with mostly clear skies and occasional high cloud. Sunshine will increase as the day goes on. The wind will remain, but less intense than before, blowing at around 20 km per hour with gusts up to 35 km per hour. Temperatures will range from 7°C to 15°C.
Alcoy
Alcoy will see a mix of sunshine and cloud over the weekend. AEMET has also lifted the yellow wind alert here, although light winds will still be present, with gusts of up to 15 km per hour in the morning. Temperatures will stay on the cool side, with lows of 4°C and highs of 11°C.
