Costa Blanca hotels have enjoyed a robust start to the summer season, with occupancy levels remaining high throughout the first half of June and expectations growing for an even busier second half of the month.

Figures compiled by BigDataHosbec show that accommodation providers across the region have reported encouraging results, driven by strong domestic and international demand.

The outlook remains particularly positive as major events such as Alicante’s Hogueras celebrations approach and Benidorm continues to attract large numbers of visitors.

Valencia leads regional performance

The Province of Valencia recorded the strongest occupancy figures, reaching an average of 92.4% during the first two weeks of June. This represents a significant improvement compared with the same period last year.

Valencia city achieved occupancy of almost 93%, supported largely by international travellers, while the coastal resort of Gandia surpassed the 93% mark thanks to strong demand from Spanish holidaymakers.

Castellón posts biggest growth

Although occupancy levels remained slightly below those seen in Valencia, Castellón registered the most notable year-on-year improvement. Hotels across the province averaged 78.6% occupancy, more than nine percentage points higher than during the equivalent period in 2025.

The increase highlights growing interest in the province as a summer destination and reflects positive momentum across the wider regional tourism sector.

Costa Blanca continues to perform well

Hotels on the Costa Blanca recorded average occupancy of 81.2%, slightly ahead of last year’s figures. Southern areas of the province delivered particularly strong results, with Alicante South reaching 82.1%, representing an increase of more than eight percentage points compared with the previous year.

These figures underline the continued appeal of the Costa Blanca for both domestic and overseas visitors as the peak summer season begins.

Benidorm remains the region’s tourism powerhouse

Benidorm once again confirmed its status as the leading tourist destination in the Valencian Community. Hotel occupancy during the first half of June reached 88.5%, maintaining virtually identical levels to those recorded a year earlier.

International tourism continues to play a crucial role in the resort’s success. Visitors from the United Kingdom account for nearly half of all hotel guests, representing 49% of the market. Spanish travellers make up almost 34%, while Portugal, the Netherlands, Ireland and Belgium also contribute significant visitor numbers.

Occupancy levels remained consistently strong across different hotel categories, with both three-star and four-star establishments reporting figures close to 89%.

Optimistic outlook for the rest of June

Advance bookings suggest that demand will remain exceptionally strong throughout the remainder of the month. Hotels in Benidorm are already reporting reservation levels of around 87.5%, indicating that occupancy could once again approach practical full capacity as summer officially gets underway.

Across the Valencian Community, tourism businesses remain optimistic. In Alicante Province, the upcoming Hogueras festivities are expected to provide an additional boost, helping to sustain high occupancy rates and strong visitor spending through the end of June.
