If you are one of the millions of people accredited for an Imserso holiday, it is time to find that letter and keep it somewhere safe.
Bookings for the 2026-2027 Imserso Tourism Programme start next week, with pensioners in the Valencian Community able to buy their trips from Wednesday 16 September if they have preferential status. Non-preferential users can book from Thursday 17 September.
Imserso has started sending almost three million letters to 4.6 million accredited people across Spain. Each contains a four-digit code for the new season, which you will need when booking online.
When can Costa Blanca residents book?
For residents of the Valencian Community, the important dates are
Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17 September.
Preferential users can start buying trips on 16 September, followed by non-preferential users one day later. Your status depends on the points awarded during the application process.
Those points take into account factors including age, financial circumstances, disability, previous participation in the programme and large-family status.
If you have travelled with Imserso before, do not assume last season’s booking code will work. The four-digit code changes each season.
Where can you go?
The programme offers three broad choices: mainland coastal holidays, island holidays and shorter breaks.
For the 2025-2026 season, Imserso offered 879,213 places. Just over half went to mainland coastal destinations, including the Valencian Community, while around a quarter covered the Canary and Balearic Islands. The remaining places included cultural circuits, nature trips and city breaks.
Prices vary according to the destination, dates, length of stay and accommodation. The published range for that season ran from €132.91 for a four-day low-season city break to €564.72 for ten days in the Canary Islands during high season with transport.
€50 holidays for pensioners on lower incomes
One of the newer additions is a reduced €50 rate for pensioners with fewer financial resources.
Imserso reserved 7,447 places for people receiving a benefit equal to or below the amount of Spain’s non-contributory retirement or incapacity pensions. The programme has also introduced places where travellers can bring pets, subject to the relevant rules.
How do you book?
Once your booking date arrives, you can reserve online or through an authorised travel agency.
Mainland coastal holidays and shorter breaks use Turismo Social, while Mundicolor handles island holidays. Online bookings require your DNI and accreditation code. At an authorised travel agency, you only need your DNI.
The programme generally includes accommodation and, with some exceptions, transport. Coastal holidays also include complementary healthcare assistance and a programme of social and cultural activities.
For questions, Imserso has an information line on 912 667 713, open Monday to Friday from 09:00 to 18:00.
So, for accredited Costa Blanca residents, the dates to circle are 16 and 17 September. Check your letter, find your four-digit code and make sure you know which booking day applies to you.
