Pego is once again looking forward to its Christmas tradition, Nit en Blanc (Night in White).
The event has become the town’s unofficial doorway into the festive season.
Nit en Blanc will take place on Friday 5 December. The evening begins at 18:30 in the Plaça del Ayuntamiento with the long awaited Christmas light switch on.
Pego’s Nit en Blanc: Shops and sparkle
During the celebration, shops in Pego will open later than usual. Many shops will also join the Christmas window display competition. Their decorated facades will add colour to the streets and help set the festive mood.
Once the lights are glowing, children can join a lantern making workshop.
The evening will finish at 20:00 in the Casa de Cultura. There the awards for the best decorated shop windows will be announced.
The event will also include the traditional raffle and a display of decorative and culinary ideas to inspire anyone preparing for the season.
The band Gluten Free will provide the evening’s entertainment.
Pego Councillor, Raül Tamarit, says the goal is to create a space where people can meet and enjoy each other’s company. Nit en Blanc is also a way to thank customers and to welcome in the festive season with optimism.
