Calling all metal fans! Santa Pola is getting ready to turn up the volume this summer as the Rock’N’Pola Festival returns for its 11th edition.
Taking place on 24 and 25 July at the El Palmeral Auditorium, the free event will bring together ten bands from Spain and Chile for two days of powerful live music, heavy riffs and an atmosphere dedicated entirely to rock and metal.
Free entry and an international debut
One of the festival’s biggest attractions remains its free admission, allowing visitors to enjoy a packed programme of live performances without spending a euro on tickets.
This year, organisers have assembled a line-up featuring seven bands from Alicante Province and two from neighbouring Murcia. In addition, the festival will welcome its first international act.
Chilean thrash metal legends Massacre will make their Spanish debut as part of a short European tour that includes only Madrid, Barcelona and Santa Pola.
For organisers, securing the appearance of the veteran South American band marks a major milestone. After all, Massacre has performed since the 1980s and played an important role in the development of Chile’s early thrash metal scene.
A festival for every style of metal
While thrash metal fans will have plenty to enjoy, the programme offers much
more than a single genre.
Throughout the weekend, audiences can experience everything from extreme metal and death metal to hard rock, alternative metal, industrial sounds and classic heavy metal.
At the same time, organisers continue to promote diversity within the rock community. Several bands feature female lead vocalists, reflecting the festival’s ongoing commitment to supporting women in metal.
