If textiles make your heart skip a stitch, then the LanArte Textile Fest in Alicante is the place to be this weekend.
On Saturday, 20 September and Sunday, 21 September, the city will turn into the textile capital with the very first LanArte Alicante Fest.
This new international event brings together more than 60 exhibitors and designers from across Europe and Latin America, as well as some of Spain’s best-known names in the craft world.
The idea came from three women, Belén, Elena and Raquel, all deeply rooted in textiles as dyers, weavers and designers. Together, they have created a festival where tradition meets modern style, with the aim of showing off just how creative this sector has become.
Over the two days, FIRA IFA will be brimming with international brands, specialist publishers, haberdasheries and independent dyers. Expect to meet designers from Argentina, Chile, France, Portugal, Germany, and of course, Spain, all under one roof.
Workshops & activities
Alongside the stands, there is a programme of hands-on workshops run by big names.
Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned stitcher, you will find sessions to match your level, from learning the basics of knitting and crochet to discovering new ways to bring textiles into fashion and home design.
You can also enjoy free activities designed to bring knitting and fibre art closer to everyone, so even if you’ve never picked up a needle, you might leave with a new hobby.
Exhibitors galore
Over 60 stands will showcase everything from top-quality yarns and skeins to unique tools and accessories. Exhibitors are bringing their best collections for you to explore, touch, and, of course, take home. You will also get the chance to chat with them directly, pick up expert tips on fibres and colours, swap project ideas, or just take a few photos.

FIRA IFA is located at Ctra. N-340 Km. 731, 03320 Elche (Alicante). Located just 5 minutes from Alicante Airport, public transport users can use bus lines 251A and 251B, which stop at IFA.
