Gastronavidad returns to Guardamar del Segura for its second year, and the town is more than ready to celebrate.

From 5 to 8 December, Parque Reina Sofía will once again transform into a festive hub of good food and live entertainment. After the huge success of last year’s debut, which packed the park throughout the December long weekend, the event is already becoming a favourite for both locals and visitors.

This year, Gastronavidad grows in every sense. The Councillor for Economic Development, Gisela Teva, explained that the programme has expanded to offer even more variety. “We have gone from seven to ten food trucks and increased the leisure activities with more music, dance, storytelling, magic and concerts,” she said.

One of the highlights will be a classic Christmas touch: a traditional carousel. Even better, the rides will be free with any purchase over €10 at the food and drink stands. Local restaurants will also have a stronger presence this year, bringing a wider choice of dishes for every taste.

Gastronavidad teamwork

Mayor José Luis Sáez praised the strong teamwork between the Council and the Restaurant Association, pointing to successful joint projects such as the Nyora and Prawn Gastronomic Week and their participation in Alicante Gastronómica.

“We hope this collaboration continues, with the aim of promoting our gastronomy even further and positioning Guardamar as a leading Christmas destination in the Vega Baja,” he said.

The mayor encouraged residents, neighbours and visitors to make the most of Gastronavidad, describing it as “an event that brings together flavour, tradition and entertainment in a unique setting.” He also invited everyone to join the rest of the Christmas activities planned across the town, wishing all a very Merry Christmas.
