Hotels in Elche hit over 95% occupancy during the patron saint festivities from 7 to 15 August, proving once again that the city knows how to draw a crowd.

According to Councilor for Tourism Irene Ruíz, the celebrations “are reinforced as a tourist attraction” for both locals and visitors alike.

La Marina Resort, one of the Costa Blanca’s biggest complexes, reported a technical occupancy rate of 100% during the festival period.

Most tourists visiting Elche were domestic, coming primarily from the Valencian Community, Madrid, Catalonia, Andalusia, Murcia, and Castilla-La Mancha. Among international visitors, the majority hailed from France, the UK, Germany, Belgium, and the Netherlands.

Tourist information points in the city also saw a boost. Between June and 15 August, the Jubilee Year reception center in Plaza de Baix, the Glorieta point, and other offices welcomed more than 20,000 visitors, an 11% increase compared to 2024.

Online interest surged too. The VisitElche website attracted over 350,000 visits during the festival promotion campaign, roughly 150% higher than last year, while the city’s social media channels racked up more than 800,000 views of content related to the August Festival.

All in all, the data confirms what locals already know: Elche’s patron saint festivities aren’t just a tradition, they are a major draw for tourism, both at home and abroad.
