Alicante’s popular Autumn Trails (Senderos de Otoño) return this year.

Enjoy three free guided walks exploring some of the city’s most scenic and historic landscapes. The trails will take place on Sundays 26 October, 9 November and 23 November, offering a mix of nature, history and environmental discovery.

Promenades and Notable Trees

The first route, Promenades and Notable Trees, will take place on Sunday, 26 October at 11:00. This three-kilometre circular walk through Alicante’s Traditional Centre will depart from the Paseíto de Ramiro at 10:45.

Participants will discover the city’s most iconic trees, including century-old ficus specimens found in many of its plazas, while learning about the history of Alicante’s promenades.

Registration for this walk runs from 13 to 23 October until 14:00, with a maximum of 50 participants.

Alicante’s Autumn Trails: La Ereta Park

On Sunday, 9 November, the second walk focuses on La Ereta Park and the Garrigós Wells. Starting at 10:45 from the park’s entrance on Plaza del Puente, this route combines panoramic views of the city with an exploration of local biodiversity.

At the end of the walk, participants can enjoy a guided visit to the Museo de Aguas (Water Museum) and the historic Garrigós Wells, a remarkable water storage system carved into the rock centuries ago.

Registration is open from 27 October to 6 November until 14:00.

Bird Ringing and La Marjal Park

The final walk, Bird Ringing and La Marjal Park, will take place on Sunday, 23 November at 11:00, departing from the main viewpoint of La Marjal Park near the roundabout on Avenida de las Naciones at 10:45. A scientific bird-ringing demonstration will show how experts monitor and protect bird populations, followed by an environmental tour of the park, a model of sustainable urban design and biodiversity.

Registration for this activity runs from 10 to 20 November until 14:00.
