Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández Airport has set a new record for monthly passenger numbers.
Figures just released show the airport welcomed 2,106,991 travellers in July, a 5.9% rise on the same month last year.
International traffic, which makes up the bulk of the airport’s activity, jumped 8.5% to 1,871,785 passengers. Domestic travel, however, fell by 10.6%, with 234,133 passengers.

The UK was by far the busiest international market, with 688,968 passengers in July. Norway followed with 130,818, then Germany (120,259), the Netherlands (116,937), and France (100,723).
It wasn’t just passengers setting records. The airport also logged its highest-ever monthly flight total, handling 12,829 take-offs and landings, a 5.7% increase compared to July 2024.
2025’s flight movements at Alicante airport
From January to July this year, Alicante-Elche Airport handled 11,311,482 passengers, up 9.5% on the same period in 2024. Flight movements over the first seven months reached 71,240, an increase of 9.7%.
Across the wider Aena network, which includes 46 Spanish airports, two heliports, London Luton, and 17 Brazilian airports, July saw 38,474,698 passengers, up 2.7% year-on-year. Aircraft movements rose 0.9% to 319,591, while cargo volumes jumped 10.1% to 130,508 tonnes.
