Ondara’s exhibition is bringing lace into the modern world by swapping the usual threads for shimmering copper.

Traditional lace with a modern soul
The collection on display at the Ondara Town Hall’s House of Culture from November 8 to 22 is proof of this transformation. It features a selection of accessories and jewellery. There are bracelets, rings, earrings, pendants, brooches, and other unique designs, all handmade using the traditional bobbin lace technique, but crafted with copper threads instead of the classic materials.
The result is a series of stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces that combine the ancestral craftsmanship with a modern, eye-catching approach.
The use of copper is far from random. This metal is one of the first ever used by humankind, archaeologists have found evidence of its use dating back around 10,000 years. Its flexibility and resistance to corrosion made it a key material during the Copper and Bronze Ages, used to create everything from tools to jewelry and decorative objects.

In this collection, copper becomes a bridge between past and present: an ancient metal shaping modern creations, all born from an equally ancient technique.
