Oktoberfest, the world’s most famous beer celebration, has arrived in Alicante and will run until 9 November.

Good news for anyone who enjoys a cold pint.

This year, the city’s bullring has been transformed into a Bavarian-style party ground, offering a taste of Germany. Admission is free, and visitors can drop in from Monday to Friday between 18:30 and 01:00, or on weekends from 12:30 to 01:00.

A taste of Bavaria in the heart of Alicante

Inside the large Bavarian, visitors can raise a stein of Paulaner beer, the official brew of the festiva. Other beers include favourites such as Münchner Hell, Weissbier, and Salvator. For those who prefer something lighter, alcohol-free and gluten-free options are also available.

Food lovers will not go hungry. Pretzels, juicy bratwurst and bockwurst sausages, hearty Bavarian-style pork knuckle, and golden potatoes are all on the menu. To finish, the classic apple strudel, or Apfelstrudel, provides a sweet ending.

Oktoberfest in Alicante: More than just beer

It would not be Oktoberfest without a bit of fun. DJs and live concerts will keep the music flowing, and the traditional stein-holding competition invites brave souls to see who can keep their beer arm steady the longest.

Waiters in traditional Bavarian will make you feel as close to Munich as you can get without leaving the Costa Blanca.
