Calling all art lovers on the Costa Blanca. Orihuela is set to welcome a new contemporary art exhibition this month with the opening of “The Intention of the Body in Graphic Art” (“La Intención del Cuerpo en la Gráfica”) at the Museo de la Reconquista.
The exhibition opens on 7 May at 19:00 and runs until 31 May in the museum’s temporary exhibition hall.
A focus on the body and artistic process
The collection features work by the a3tintas collective, formed by artists Lucía Cervantes, Paula Clar and Celia Verdú.
Their work explores contemporary graphic art, with a particular focus on the role of the body in the creative process.
Using printmaking techniques such as lithography, the artists examine movement, gesture and physical presence, as well as the emotional side of creation.
Three perspectives on creation
The exhibition unfolds across three sections, each offering a different take on how the body interacts with artistic practice.
Visitors will see pieces built around the contrast between black lithographic ink and white paper. Traditional techniques sit alongside more experimental ideas, creating a dialogue between past and present.
From Valencia to international stages
The a3tintas collective formed in Valencia while studying a Master’s in Artistic Production at Valencia University.
Since then, their work has travelled widely, with exhibitions across Spain in cities such as Valencia, Murcia, Barcelona and Zaragoza, as well as internationally in France, Poland, Cuba and the United Kingdom.
