Good news for travellers in the south of the province. Alicante-Elche Airport now has a new bus connection. The route will link the terminal with the Vega Baja and the La Marina area of Elche.

The new service, operated by Bus Sigüenza, started running on 1 February. It connects the airport with a wide network of towns in the south of the province, as well as Abanilla in Murcia.

  • Almoradí
  • Benejúzar
  • Benferri
  • Bigastro
  • Daya Nueva
  • Daya Vieja
  • Formentera del Segura
  • Guardamar del Segura

  • Orihuela
  • Rojales
  • San Fulgencio
  • Santa Pola

One of the main improvements is the new direct airport connection from Almoradí, Formentera del Segura, Rojales and Guardamar del Segura.

How the service will run

The concession includes a minimum fleet of six buses plus one spare vehicle. In total, the service will operate more than 10,600 journeys per year, covering almost 392,600 kilometres.

The airport line will run all year round. During the winter season there will be two outbound services and three return services each day from Monday to Sunday. In summer, one additional service in each direction will be added.

New and updated lines

  • Line 1: Orihuela – Las Dayas on demand – Guardamar del Segura
    Seven services in each direction from Monday to Friday on working days during winter, six per direction in summer. There will also be three services per direction on working Saturdays throughout the year and two services per direction on Sundays and public holidays.
  • Line 2: Almoradí – Rojales – Alicante
    Three services per direction from Monday to Saturday on working days, all year round.
  • Line 4A: Abanilla – La Murada – Benferri – Orihuela
    Two outbound and three return services from Monday to Friday on working days, plus two services per direction on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays throughout the year.
  • Line 4B: La Murada – Benferri – Orihuela – Hospital Vega Baja
    Two services per direction from Monday to Friday on working days. On working Tuesdays, there will be one additional outbound service and two extra return services.
