Good news for drivers: Benidorm makes parking painless. Image: Ayuntamiento de Benidorm.

Parking in Benidorm has just become a little less painful, which regular drivers in the city will know is no small thing.

Benidorm Council and Telpark have launched a new discount campaign for several central car parks, aiming to make parking cheaper while encouraging people to spend more time, and money, in local shops, bars and restaurants.

The offer applies to the Tomás Ortuño, Mercado and Ametlla del Mar car parks. Drivers can park for up to 12 hours at Tomás Ortuño and Mercado for €2.99. At Ametlla del Mar, the special rate is even lower, just €0.99.

To use the discounts, drivers need the Multipass, which can be bought through the Telpark app. The pass is available for 5, 10 or 20 visits. Once it is activated, there is no need to visit a payment machine or press any buttons. The system recognises your number plate and opens the barrier automatically for the vehicle linked to the pass. Simple and refreshingly fuss free.

Parking in Benidorm: No restrictions

The Councillor for Mobility, Francis Muñoz, said the pass comes with no time limits or restrictions on days. He explained that the council and the parking operator have decided to relaunch the campaign after positive feedback in the past. The aim is to make parking easier for both residents and visitors, while giving local businesses a welcome boost.

There is also a bonus for electric vehicle drivers. Multipass users get a 30% discount on charging at Telpark managed car parks. This includes more than a dozen semi fast charging points across the town.

For anyone who has ever driven round Benidorm one too many times looking for a space, this could make life a bit easier. And it leaves more time for what really matters, enjoying the city rather than circling it.
