Europe Day Gala will take place on Saturday 9 May at the Torrevieja International Auditorium, bringing together music, community and international participation to celebrate European unity.
The aim is to promote coexistence, integration and a shared sense of belonging to the European Union among residents of many different nationalities living in the city.
It also reinforces Torrevieja’s multicultural identity.
Free entry with invitation
Entry is free, but attendees need an invitation. People can download tickets from culturatorrevieja.com starting Thursday 30 April. Tickets are available until capacity runs out.
Local group Sette Voci will perform a special Eurovision-themed set. They will also perform the European Union anthem during the ceremony.
The headline act is María Isabel, winner of Eurovision Junior. She will close the evening with her most famous songs, including “Antes muerta que sencilla”.
Free bus service
The council will provide a free shuttle bus for attendees. Buses will leave from Avenida Gregorio Marañón at 18:30. Return buses will depart after the event from the auditorium.
The service aims to make access easier and reduce parking pressure around the venue.
Petanque Tournament
A second event takes place on Sunday 10 May. The traditional “Europe Day 2026” petanque tournament runs from 09:45 to 16:00.
It will take place at the Rocajuna urbanisation courts.
Teams from across Europe will compete. Participants represent Spain, the United Kingdom, Sweden, France, Belgium and a mixed “Rest of Europe” team.
Belgium enters as defending champion after winning in 2025.
