Communities up and down the Costa Blanca are coming together this November to honour the fallen and support Remembrance Day 2025.
Charity events, services, and fundraising celebrations will be taking place from Orihuela to Benidorm.
The spirit of remembrance and community is alive and well across the region. Local groups and expat organisations are rallying in support of the Royal British Legion organising solemn ceremonies and social gatherings.
Remembrance Day in Torrevieja
On Tuesday, 11 November at 11:00, the Parish Church of the Immaculate Conception will host the official Remembrance Day service. The service has been organised by the Royal British Legion with support from the City Council. The Mayor of Torrevieja, Eduardo Dolón, will attend alongside local councillors and representatives from the British Consulate in Alicante.
Following the service, a floral tribute will be laid in the Plaza de la Constitución. Veterans from the Royal Navy, Army, and Royal Air Force will join members of the Torrevieja Local Police for this poignant moment.
Javea’s Remembrance Service
In Javea, the local branch of the Royal British Legion will hold its annual remembrance service at the Fishermen’s Church in the Port. This will be followed by a short parade and wreath laying at the memorial. The event draws both long-time residents and newcomers each year. A reminder that even far from home, the tradition of the 11th hour on the 11th day still resonates.
Wear your poppy with pride in Benidorm
Benidorm will mark the occasion with a remembrance gathering at the British Legion monument near Rincon de Loix. Ex-service members, residents, and visitors are encouraged to attend and wear their poppies with pride. Afterwards, many will head to local British bars for fundraising raffles and a well-earned pint in support of the Poppy Appeal.

From smaller inland towns to bustling resorts, countless local bars, clubs, and associations are hosting events throughout November. It is a collective effort that not only honours those who served, but also supports the welfare of today’s veterans and their families.
