The traditional Craft Market in Elda will return from 6 to 8 December offering 45 stalls to browse and enjoy.
This year’s market will combine the usual toys, crafts and gift items. There will be food stalls offering churros, waffles, sweets, hamburgers, pickles and more.
The market will feature decorative lighting and a full programme of children’s activities in the “Municipal Tents.” It will be open from 10:30 to 14:00 and from 17:00 to 21:00 throughout the three days.
As Culture Councillor Iñaki Pérez Rico explained, the free activities include face painting, Christmas craft workshops, Santa’s House, drawings, greeting cards, storytelling, and balloon twisting. Children will also enjoy traditional games and Christmas carols nearby.
The Craft Market at the Immaculate Conception Fair will return to its usual location in the La Almafrá area, between Polígono, Médico José Ferreira Quintana, and Avenida de Filipinas.
The Fair will run alongside the traditional Funfair, marking the start of the festive season in Elda.
Christmas in Elda: Open-air art gallery
Elda is preparing to transform its streets into an open-air gallery again for Art al Balcó (Art on the Balcony). The event opens on 4 December at 18:00 with a parade. It starts at the corner of the Central Market and Avenida Juan Carlos I, then heads to Plaza Mayor, passing streets where more than 100 canvases will be displayed on balconies.
Art al Balcó brings art directly to the public. Visitors can enjoy it simply by walking through the city. The works will remain on display until 21 December.
The Councillor for Culture, Iñaki Pérez Rico, said the event “consolidates a project created to bring art to the streets and make it accessible to everyone.” He added that it energises the city and strengthens local pride. He invited everyone to join the opening parade and celebrate the start of the event.
